The Highlands

Farm Experience

Step into the storybook charm of The Swallow’s Nest with our signature farm experience. This hands-on session brings you up close with our most beloved animals and offers a genuine connection to the farm. Whether you’re brushing a Highland cow, collecting rainbow-coloured eggs or simply soaking in the countryside, it’s a moment to slow down and reconnect.

The package

Your session is private and thoughtfully guided. You’ll meet, feed and interact with a variety of animals while learning about their care, quirks and individual personalities. Your visit also includes a curated gallery of digital photographs, capturing quiet moments to remember long after you leave.

To preserve the calm atmosphere of the farm, we release only a limited number of sessions each week. Group sizes are kept deliberately small to create a personal and unhurried experience.

FAQ

What happens if it rains - Can we reschedule?

Sessions can go ahead in light rain conditions, but in extreme weather (e.g. thunderstorms, heavy downpour, extreme heat) we’ll reschedule your booking at no extra charge. Please note: All bookings are non-refundable.

Where is the farm, and what should I bring?

We are located in East Kangaloon, NSW.   Full address will be sent upon booking. We provide all animal feed, but you’re welcome to bring 1x bag of carrots as an extra treat for the animals. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-in shoes - especially after rain.

When will we receive our photos?

We aim to deliver your photo gallery within 2-3 weeks. All photos are edited and sent to you via a link. Delays during busy periods will be discussed with you directly. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Can we take eggs and yabbies home?

Guests are welcome to take home some of the eggs and yabbies collected during their visit. Additional eggs may be available for purchase at $10 per dozen or $5 per half dozen. If you wish to take yabbies home, please bring a cooler bag. Both are seasonal: during the cooler months, yabbies enter a dormant state and hens may lay fewer eggs to conserve energy.
